About Me

Perhaps you know my story.

Perhaps it is yours also.

I am a “country girl” at heart, yet I live in the city at the foothills of the Ozarks. I am a homeschooling mom to 2 girls, ages 11 and 8.  We share a small house with hubby, 2 cats and a guinea pig. Life gets crazy sometimes. I can get crazy sometimes!

I’ve struggled with different phases of my life — fear, grief, discontent, and even depression at times. A few months ago, I turned 40 and began to reflect even more.  Was this really how I pictured my life? Was it really suppose to turn out like this?

Then I found the book, One Thousand Gifts and the authors blog called “A Holy Experience” . Ann’s writing caught my attention. Yet the message settled in my heart and soon I was taking the dare too. Soon, I was scribbling in a left-over spiral notebook my own list of 1000 things for which I was grateful .

A strange thing has started to happen. I now thank God for what I DO have, and don’t’ complain about what I might be missing.  Instead of asking if my life was “enough” I started waking up each morning LOOKING for the ever-present beauty around me. While my friends check off items on their “bucket list of someday” I am living and enjoying life NOW.

This simple exercise of being thankful has changed me in a big way.  Now, I am fully awake to the many blessings that God has given. I didn’t earn them and I certainly don’t deserve them. Yet, I have been entrusted with some very special things.

And you have to.

So come along with me and join me as I learn to live a life of  “eurcheristeo.”

You might just look at the world a little differently!
